A native of Columbia, South Carolina, Ben is the newest associate to join Bruner Powell.  After graduating from Woodberry Forest School in Virginia, Ben earned his Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2002.  In 2008, he earned his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law where he was awarded the Robert McCormick Figg, Jr. Trial Advocacy Award and the Claud Sapp Award for scholarship, industry, and leadership.  Ben also served as president the the USC School of Law Pro Bono Board.
 
Before law school, Ben spent a year living in New Zealand and two years serving the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office as the Deputy Clerk of Court for the South Carolina State Grand Jury.  Prior to joining Bruner Powell, Ben served as law clerk to the Honorable G. Thomas Cooper, Jr. of Camden, South Carolina.
 
Ben and his wife Caitlin, of High Point, NC, live in Columbia and enjoy anything Tar Heel.  In addition to his passion for the outdoors, Ben has been known to cook a hog or two.
